Students in 7th grade at Quaker Valley Middle School are taking a field trip without leaving home. History classes taught by Mr. Brian Wolovich and Mr. Jeremy Sheffield are traveling via Zoom to the Pittsburgh Glass Center to learn more about the exhibit called United.

This exhibit explores concepts related to immigration and refugees.

Mr. Wolovich says the virtual field trip is how teachers are trying to create new opportunities for learning and engagement, despite the current situation.

This virtual visit to the Glass Center was extra special for the students, as one of the artists featured in the United exhibit is also the parent of two Quaker Valley students. Artist Sandra Bacchi is the mother of Ana, grade 7, and Vitoria, grade 5.
