School is over- what should I do with all the papers?

Q: My kids just completed 6th and 8th grade.  I've always had trouble deciding what to do with all of their school papers?

A:  Consider creating a memory box for each child to store mementos.

I suggest keeping school papers that are worthy of being a part of this box.   The struggle some folks have is exactly what is worthy of keeping.  When making your decision, ask yourself, what will your child will really care about in 20 years when you pass along this memory box to him/her?

Consider storing each school year in a separate folder or envelope, with appropriate labeling.

The memory box is a great place to store trophies, awards and other special keepsakes.

When storing items for your memory box, choose a container that best suits the amount of paper you plan to save and the climate of the room it will be stored.  I always lean towards clear plastic totes with a snap lid.
