1. 2026 Franklin Fall Farm Fun Fest announced (fcfreepresspa.com) — A free, family-friendly Franklin Fall Farm Fun Fest is coming to Martin Farm on Clearfield Road in Shippensburg on Saturday, Sept. 26, offering wagon tours, cow milking, and agricultural exhibits. Local residents can enjoy free milk and ice cream, buy lunch from the FFA, and learn how a nearby 250-acre dairy farm operates and supports Franklin County’s farm economy. 
2. Shippensburg livestock business implicated in New York horse-slaughter investigation (theslateonline.com) — A Shippensburg-area livestock hauler is under scrutiny after New York State Police intercepted 25 horses allegedly bound for slaughter and human consumption in Canada, focusing attention on Rotz Livestock just outside the borough. Investigators and animal-welfare groups say the Shippensburg-to-Quebec route has moved hundreds of horses in recent years, though no charges have been filed locally so far.
3. Low-Flying F-16 Rattles Adams County During Camp David Intercept (dailyvoice.com) — Residents in and around Shippensburg were within a 30-mile security zone this weekend as an F-16 intercepted a small plane near Camp David, prompting low-flying jet noise across central Pennsylvania.
