• Family from eastern Pennsylvania on the University that said ‘yes' (sru.edu) — An eastern Pennsylvania family found the right fit for their daughter’s unique combination of music therapy and occupational therapy at Slippery Rock University, after other schools said it wasn’t possible. Their first visit to the town of Slippery Rock and the campus tour helped confirm their choice of a state school that could tailor a path to her goals.
• McDonald alum Ryan Henry's new approach paying off (tribtoday.com) — Local track and field fans will recognize Slippery Rock as one of the smaller meets where Penn State shot putter Ryan Henry rebuilt his confidence and competitive mindset. The McDonald High grad describes how competing at places like Slippery Rock helped him shift from overhyped intensity to a calmer, more trusting approach, ultimately leading to two All-American honors and renewed goals for his final collegiate season.
