Bridge Work Begins on Cedar Crest Boulevard

The to fix the 55-year-old Cedar Crest Boulevard Bridge over Cedar Creek in South Whitehall and Allentown got under way Thursday.

Crews will replace the superstructure (deck and beam) on the single span, concrete box beam bridge. 

The project is expected to be completed in September, PennDOT has said.

During construction, Cedar Crest Boulevard at Broadway/Parkway Boulevard will remain open with one 10-foot travel lane in each direction. 

Clearwater Construction, Inc. of Mercer, is the general contractor. The cost of the project is $865,814.
