Traffic Flows Freely Again on Cedar Crest Boulevard Bridge

After seven months, the barriers were down this week on the Cedar Crest Boulevard Bridge in South Whitehall and Allentown.

Traffic was flowing freely again this week on the Cedar Crest Boulevard Bridge over Cedar Creek in South Whitehall and Allentown, following a seven-month project to rehab the 55-year-old structure.

Work to fix the single span, concrete box beam bridge began in March, and had been expected to last into September. As crews worked to replace deck and beam, traffic had been restricted over it, with one 10-foot travel lane in either direction.
