Update: Two Women Found Dead in Alburtis Home, Police Investigating

State police officials say it is a death investigation.

Update at 1:44 p.m.:  Two women who neighbors say were mother and daughter are dead and state police are leading an investigation, according to Lt. Edgardo Colon of the state police barracks at Fogelsville.

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim was called to a home at 122 Cobblestone Court in Alburtis this morning.

Autopsies are scheduled for Saturday morning, and officials don’t expect to release further information until then, said Debbie Garlicki, spokesperson for the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.

The home at 122 Cobblestone Court is owned by Althea Walbert, according to Lehigh County tax records.

Police were seen extending their investigation into a detached garage next to the house.

A man who identified himself as a family friend looked visibly shaken and upset as he was seen leaving the house Friday morning.

The neatly-kept home is a white Cape Cod with green shutters. A tidy brick walkway leads to a patio with a fountain. The quiet neighborhood consists mostly of townhouses.

At about 9 a.m., emergency scanner reports alerted Alburtis Police and ambulance to an apparent cardiac arrest case. Later reports indicated the possibility of two victims dead.

Police taped off the scene. Investigators include a state police forensic team.

Alburtis Police Chief Robert Palmer said any updates will be released by the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.

Update at 12:33 p.m.: Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim was called to an Alburtis home this morning for what's is now described as a "death investigation" by State Police officials.

The incident involves two females, according Debbie Garlicki, spokesperson for the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office. She said an autopsy review is scheduled for tomorrow.

11 a.m.: Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim is in an Alburtis home in what appears to be a crime scene.

Emergency scanner reports alerted Alburtis Police and ambulance this morning at about 9 to an apparent cardiac arrest. Later reports indicated the possibility of two victims.

Since then, the home at 122 Cobblestone Court has been taped off and the State Police Forensic team has arrived.

Alburtis Police Chief Robert Palmer said any information will be released by the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
