Why Go: Have fun -- and help to fund a local chapter of Dance for PD to benefit patients with Parkinson's. The Pocono Area Dance Association's dance social will feature swing, Latin and ballroom music, food and refreshments. Free dance lesson. The dance social is open to people of all ages, couples and singles, and novices and pros. The organization is dedicated to helping to improve the lives of those with Parkinson's by offering specialized dance and movement classes.
Pricing: Admission is $10 per person at the door.

2. Firefly Fun at the Lehigh Valley Zoo
Where/When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lehigh Valley Zoo, 5150 Game Preserve Road, Schnecksville.
Why Go: Firefly Fun all day, with storytime at noon, Kira Willey and Fireflies Yoga Band at 1 p.m. and a special appearance by Tinker Bell from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Pricing: Adults, $10.75; seniors (age 65-plus) $9.75; child (age 2-11) $8.75; children under 2, free.
3. "Harold and the Purple Crayon"
Where/When: Through July 28 at Muhlenberg's Trexler Pavilion for Theatre & Dance, Chew Street, Allentown.
Why Go: You can follow Harold's adventures -- exploring oceans, braving dragons -- as he creates with his trusty purple crayon.
Pricing: $10 in June; $12 in July.
4. Shankweiler's Drive In.
Where/When: Starting Friday, June 22, "Brave" and "Madagascar 3: Europe" are showing at Shankweiler's Drive-in, 4540 Shankweiler Road, Orefield.
Why Go: It's America's oldest drive-in! Enjoy family movies on the big screen, under the stars. Pack a picnic lunch, bring a frisbee and hula hoop and pass the time in a fun way before the movie starts.
5. Schnecksville Community Fair
Where/When: Through Saturday at 4550 Old Packhouse Road, Schnecksville. Hours are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, June 22; and 3 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, June 23.
Why Go: Shrimp Baskets, Chicken Pot Pie, rides, exhibits, petting barns, entertainment, magic shows, contests!
