Patch to the rescue! There's a lot of ways to enjoy the weekend -- in and around South Whitehall Patch.

When/Where: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 25-28 on the grounds of Cedar Creek Park on W. Hamilton Street in Allentown.
Why Go: Live performances on five stages all through the festival; mouthwatering fair foods from places like the Penn State Creamery, Asian Grill and Rice, Aw Shucks Roasted Corn and Made in Brazil; dozens of crafts people selling jewelry, artwork and other crafts.

Pricing: Tickets at the gate: $5, in advance, $4. A pass for all days of the festival, $10. Children ages 10 and under are free.

When/Where: 7 p.m. Sunday, May 27 at Springhouse Middle School, 1200 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA.
Why Go: There's no beating the Allentown Band for rousing, spirited concert band music. John Philip Sousa would be proud.

When/Where: 2 p.m. Monday, May 28 at 19th and Allen Streets in Allentown.
Why Go: The original dedication of the World War II monument took place Oct. 31, 1943 and featured the names of 221 local service members. It was updated in 1952 by American Legion Post 576, which will take part in this rededication. Featured speakers are Michael Drabenstott, president of the West End Alliance and Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski.

When/Where: Open daily 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; the zoo is on Game Preserve Road in Schnecksville.
Why Go: The antics of the penguins alone are worth the price of admission to the Lehigh Valley Zoo. But Sunday, May 27 is also Rainforest Awareness Day.
Pricing: Adults (ages 12-64) $10.75; Senior (age 65+) $9.75; Child (ages 2-11) $8.75; children under 2 are free. On Memorial Day, May 28, the zoo offers free admission to veterans and active duty military personnel. Military ID and some form of photo ID must be presented at the admission gate.

When/Where: 9 p.m. Saturday, May 26 at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom, 3830 Dorney Park Road, Allentown, 18104.
Why Go: Wildwater Kingdom opens that day so you can cool off before the fireworks show starts.
