South Whitehall Man Charged with False Report

Police said Aldo Mosquera left the scene of a crash then falsely reported that his car had been struck in a hit-run accident. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

A 25-year-old South Whitehall man has been charged in connection with an early morning accident on Jan. 13 in the 1400 block of N. 22nd Street in South Whitehall.

Aldo Mosquera, 25, of 1629 Charles St., was charged with false report to law enforcement and accident involving damage to unattended vehicle, according to South Whitehall police.

According to an affidavit:

-- Mosquera reported to South Whitehall police at 3:07 a.m. that someone had hit his Lincoln Town Car while it was parked in his driveway and left the scene.

-- However, at 7:41 a.m., Kimberly Kohut reported to police that someone had hit her car in the 1400 block of N. 22nd Street, a few blocks from Mosquera's residence, and had left the scene.

-- One of Kohut's neighbors said he had heard a crash at 2:45 a.m.

-- Police said car parts found at the crash on N. 22nd Street matched parts missing from Mosquera's vehicle.
