Three Injured in Route 22 Accident in South Whitehall

Four vehicles were involved in a crash Monday afternoon on Route 22 between Cedar Crest Boulevard and 15th Street.

Three people were injured Monday afternoon in a four-vehicle crash on Route 22, between Cedar Crest Boulevard and 15th Street in South Whitehall.

State police at Bethlehem said those injured were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest and St. Luke's Hospital in Fountain Hill:

* Paula Sellix, 51, of Lehighton, a driver of one of the vehicles, and her passenger, Valerie Sellix, 21.

* Lauren Sion, 25, of Allentown, a driver of one of the vehicles.

The drivers of another two vehicles -- Jesse Ace, 30, of Pen Argyl; and Randy Blose, 53, of Coplay, were not injured, state police said.

The accident occurred at 3:56 p.m. transported the injured to the hospitals.

State police did not provide details of the accident. They also did not immediately know the extent of the injuries.

The stretch of Route 22 was closed after the accident occurred, but reopened by 5 p.m., according to this WFMZ-TV report.
