Police Blotter: Burglary Attempts at Vogt's Among Reports
The following information was supplied by the South Whitehall Police Department. The incidents were among those that occurred in the township from Nov. 23 to Dec. 1.

Attempted burglary
Two burglaries were attempted in a week's time at , South Whitehall police said.
Someone pried open the front door at 1:52 a.m. on Nov. 24, and another entry was attempted through the front door at 12:33 a.m. on Dec. 1.

Also, the alarm sounded at the jewelry store on Nov. 29, but the business was secure, police said.
Burglary

An air compressor, tools and floor jack were taken from the 2000 block of Guth Road, police said. The burglary was reported at 11:50 a.m. on Nov. 30.
The thieves had cut the padlocks on garages.
Thefts from Vehicles
Several thefts from vehicles were reported stolen between Nov. 23 and Dec. 1.
Police said the following items were taken from vehicles:
-- A $3,000 engagement ring, from a vehicle in the 1300 block of N. 28th Street; reported at 11 a.m. on Nov. 23.
-- An X-Box game and DVD, taken from a vehicle in 2400 block of Walbert Avenue; reported at 5:59 p.m. on Nov. 26.
-- $7, taken from a vehicle in the 2500 block of Grove Street; reported at 1 p.m. on Nov. 23.
Also, police said the following items were taken from vehicles at :
-- A wallet, reported at 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 1.
-- Sneakers, reported at 11:50 a.m. on Nov. 30.
-- Three X-box games, GPS, iPod Touch and cell phone charger, reported at 7:38 p.m. on Nov. 29.
Thefts
Several thefts were reported between Nov. 23 and Nov. 30:
-- An iPod, from Parkland High School, reported at 10 am. on Nov. 30.
-- Two shovels and a rake, from ; reported on Nov. 29.
-- $30, from a customer's wallet at , 4793 Tilghman St.; reported at 10:51 a.m. on Nov. 29.
-- Chain link fencing, two lawn chairs and a case of bottled water, from the 1500 block of N. 19th St.; reported at 9:54 a.m. on Nov. 26.
-- Luggage cart valed at $2,500, from the , 3620 Hamilton St.; reported at 7:38 a.m. on Nov. 23.
Accidents
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 4600 block of Broadway, at 6:24 p.m. on Nov. 29. The pedestrian was cited for not crossing in a designated crosswalk.
Also, three people were injured in separate accidents between Nov. 24 and Dec. 1:
-- One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash at Route 309 and Ridgeview Drive, at 9:20 a.m. on Dec. 1; two vehicles were towed from the scene.
-- One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident in the 4700 block of Tilghman Street, at 10:18 a.m. on Nov. 28.
-- One person was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:31 p.m. on Nov. 24, in the 4100 block of Orefield Road; the vehicle was towed from the scene.
Criminal Mischief
Police said someone broke a window at a property in the 2600 block of Lapp Road. The incident was reported at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 30.
Also, police said, a vehicle was keyed in 1500 block of Pond Road. The incident was reported at 6:36 p.m. on Nov. 23.
Retail Theft
Police are investigating the theft of $1,000 worth of Mucinex from the , 1650 Cedar Crest Blvd., at 8:14 p.m. on Nov. 29.
Theft of Motor Vehicle
Police said a white Honda Civic was stolen from the 2000 block of Church Road, but later located in Allentown.
The theft was reported at 9:01 p.m. on Nov. 27.
South Whitehall police have a free that allows residents to be notified of crimes in their neighborhood.
