Police Blotter: Theft of Trek Bike Among Reports

The following information was supplied by the South Whitehall police department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

According to South Whitehall police, the following were among incidents reported in the township from Feb. 25 to March 2:

Theft:

* Copper coils were stolen from air-conditioning units at the former , 501 Centronia Road. The theft was reported at 3:50 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27.

* A cell phone was taken from Parkland High School. The theft was reported at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 1. 

* A men's red Trek bike was stolen from 1417 N. 26th St. The theft was reported at 3:09 a.m on Thursday, March 1.

Theft from Vehicle:

* Loose change was taken from an unlocked car in the 2300 block of Helen Street. It was reported at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March. 1.

* Rear mud flaps were taken from a Honda Civic in the 2000 block of Woodlawn Street. The theft was reported at 8:57 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 27.

Charged:

Brandon Mathis, 19, of Orefield, with retail theft, at 1:35 p.m. on Feb. 25. Police allege that on three occasions he took merchandise totalling $1,561 from . 

Criminal mischief:

* A 'X' was written in crimson-colored paint on the door of an apartment at 2020 W. Woodlawn St.; reported at 7:16 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 27.

* A floor lamp, Dell keyboard, glass wall hanging and plastic display was damaged at the , 3712 Hamilton Blvd.; reported on Feb. 26.
