Report: Fatal Accident on Route 22; Road Now Re-Opened

Emergency crews responded to an apparent fatal accident in South Whitehall at 12:15 p.m. this afternoon, according to  The Morning Call.

The accident occurred in eastbound lane of Route 22, between Cedar Crest Boulevard and 15th Street, near Whitehall Avenue. The eastbound lane was closed to restricted traffic while crews cleared the scene.

A blue SUV was towed from the scene about 2:30 p.m., and PennDOT reported that the highway was reopened to normal traffic at that time.
