State Police: Lower Macungie Man Struck Trooper

A 42-year-old Lower Macungie man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting a police officer investigating a domestic-related case at his home, state police at Fogelsville said.

Timothy Patrick Earls was charged with one count each of aggravated assault, simple assault and harrassment and taken to the Lehigh Central Booking Center to be arraigned.

State police at Fogelsville said they went to 2138 Timberknoll Drive on June 24 to investigate a domestic-related incident. Earls allegedly struck Trooper Peter Adams with his right forearm at 9:54 p.m., causing the trooper to fall backward into a wall.
