Three Police Officers Get Promotion

The South Whitehall commissioners passed resolutions on Wednesday to appoint three officers to higher positions, on condition of clearances.

Three South Whitehall police officers are moving up in the ranks.

Township commissioners on Wednesday passed resolutions that promote:

* Jason P. Negron, to sergeant.

* George J. Hummel, to corporal.

* Kevin R. Edelheiser, to corporal.

The appointments are conditional, until some clearances are completed.

Chief Thomas Toth told the commissioners that the department had conducted Civil Service testing to fill the vacancies in the supervisory ranks.

A formal ceremony will be held at a later date.
