Township to Get New Phone System
South Whitehall Commissioners chose ET&T of Bethlehem to install new phone system and new wiring at the administration building in a close bid.

The bids were close, and in the end, commissioners decided to go with a Lehigh Valley-based company to install its new phone system.
On a voice vote, the commissioners unanimously chose ET&T Inc. of Bethlehem to install the system, in addition to new data and phone network wiring, in the township administration building, at a cost of $135,568.
The township also had a bid from ECOMM of Wayne, who proposed doing the work for $193 less, at $135,375.

Both companies promised quick response times to problems and counted area businesses and government entities as customers.
Before the vote, ET&T's president Fusun Bubernack appealed to the commissioners to reward the work to her firm, given that the company employs people locally and is located in the Lehigh Valley.

The commissioners, in rewarding the bid to ET&T, cited the fact that the company was based in Bethlehem.
ET&T will also wire the administration building for wireless service, at a cost of $7,271. Bubernack said she would lower the fee from $8,406, matching ECOMM's bid, after winning the bid.
