When we need more, how to help others at the same time“Giving freely of ourselves and what we all gain,” a talk by practitioner of Christian Science healing and international speaker, Melanie Wahlberg. The talk will focus on universal healing precepts found in the Holy Bible, especially in Christ Jesus’ life and teachings, showing how they are available for anyone to understand and experience through the lens of Christian Science. The talk is free, open to the community, and sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, 81 Cassatt Avenue, Berwyn, PA 19312




“When we feel overwhelmed by life’s problems, we may want to try to get more from the world,” says Ms. Wahlberg. “But when we do the opposite–give more of ourselves or focus on the God-given qualities we already have to express or contribute, we find that we end up not lacking anything. Really, we gain the unexpected good of joy, health, and strength that move our lives and the world forward.”

Sharing examples of healing from her own life and professional practice of Christian Science, Ms. Wahlberg will explain why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific, meaning that people can prove its effectiveness for themselves, as fully described in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by the founder of the Christian Science movement, Mary Baker Eddy.

Ms. Wahlberg will also touch on the life of Mary Baker Eddy, and how she came to understand, confirm, and teach what she felt was original Christian healing. Eddy herself said she was especially inspired by Jesus’ demand, “He that believes on me, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these will he do, because I go unto my Father” (found in the Gospel of John 14:12 in the Bible).

For over 150 years, people around the world have worked to follow Christ Jesus in this practice of Christianity and continue to do so today, with healings of physical ills and personal difficulties.

Voodoo Deville
Voodoo Deville has been a local Chester County favorite since 1998. Check out this high-flying festival on&nbsp;June 6–7, 2026.&nbsp; It's a great day out for families, featuring hot air balloons, drone exhibits, live music, children’s entertainment, food trucks, vendors, and more! 
Purchase discounted tickets online through June 4, for $10 per adult, $4 for children ages 4–12, and $5 for parking. Family packs are available for $40, covering up to five people in a car, including parking. Ticket protection is available for a small fee. Cancel your tickets for a refund, within 24 hours of the start time. After June 4, prices are $12 per adult, $5 for children ages 4–12, and $6 for parking.&nbsp;&nbsp;Family packs are also available at the gate this year for $50 per car, with up to 5 people and parking included. 
If you’ve never attended a hot air balloon festival, here’s what to expect: Balloons are typically on display in the evenings before the scheduled launch. Weather permitting, a tethered balloon will be set up around 4:30–5:00 PM for rides, offering a short trip up and down with a great view of the festivities. Tethered ride pricing is $30 for adults, $20 for children ages 4–12, and free for children ages 3 and under with a paying adult (subject to the pilot’s approval). Rides unavailable for toddlers or infants.&nbsp; There will also be opportunity to learn about ballooning from pilots and as night falls we will light up the big birthday cake balloon as we wish America a happy 250th!

Artists will create their designs on Saturday (with a rain date of Sunday) along the campus walking trail for visitors to enjoy. Musical entertainment on Saturday includes the Pro Kids Holiday Vocal Troupe who will delight with amazing vocals and patriotic songs, followed by the Celtic music of Na’Nodach. StoneHearth Bluegrass band will play on Sunday earlier in the day for your musical entertainment. Back by popular demand, the School of Rock Easton Bank Street Band closes out the night. 
Strolling entertainment includes strolling dulcimers on Saturday, Road Less Traveled barbershop quartet on Sunday. On both days learn circus tricks with Grins &amp; Grins and enjoy the magic and comedy of Balloons the Clown. 
Find activities for kids at the Fascination Place, where activities are free for our children of our visitors. Some activities for both adults and children include free mini golf and paper rocket construction and testing. 
The vendor area include a variety of craft vendors, as well as non-profits providing information for families. There will be games sprinkled throughout, some courtesy of the festival and others for a small fee.&nbsp; There is a variety of food trucks, both sweet and savory, and all different price points, for all tastes.
Enjoy time in the country on Warren Community College’s large lawn surrounding the balloon port. Bring blankets, lawn chairs, and small games like quoits or corn hole. The campus features a 1.2-mile walking trail. Try the scavenger hunt where your family can learn about all the amazing STEAM accomplishments that happened right here in Warren County.&nbsp; Another way to learn about all the incredible things to see and do in the county is to sign up for the Explore Warren County Tourism Partnership e-news. Step back in time and join us for a special annual church service where we honor the legacy of some of the earliest settlers in the area! We will have a worship service in Old Trappe Church built in 1743. Special Guest preacher Rev. Karl Krueger will be delivering a homily on our heritage. Following the service, a luncheon and presentation entitled, “Baking for Freedom: Christoph Ludwig, A Lutheran Patriot”, will be delivered. All are welcome - hope to see you there!
Christoph Ludwig, often spelled Ludwick, was a German‑American patriot. Born in Hesse-Darmstadt and trained as a baker, Ludwig settled in Philadelphia and became a trusted leader among the city’s German-speaking community. 
During the Revolutionary War, Congress appointed him “Superintendent of Bakers for the Continental Army”. Refusing personal profit, Ludwig insisted on fair rations for soldiers and became known for his reliability and loyalty to the American cause. Washington called him his “honest friend.” Thanks to Ludwig, thousands of soldiers received daily bread, which often made the difference between endurance and collapse. 
In his will, he left money to help poor children attend school, showing his dedication to education. His legacy continues through the Christopher Ludwick Foundation, which upholds his mission in 2026. 
When Ludwig died in 1801, he was buried in the churchyard of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Germantown.
