2 Chances To Give Blood In Springfield This Month
Between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, many donors delay giving due to the holidays and travel, which can lead to low supplies.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – With the holiday season approaching, the American Red Cross is encouraging donors to give blood now to help ensure a sufficient supply for patients this winter. Springfield is hosting two donation drives in November.
You're three chances to donate in Springfield are listed below:
- Nov. 21, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Sabold Elementary School, 468 Thomson Ave.;
- Nov. 26, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Springfield Fire Company, 217 Saxer Ave.

More donations are needed in the weeks leading up to the holidays to help stock the shelves for patients like Emily Bratton. After the birth of her first child, she received several units of blood.
"I know that my life was saved because someone, somewhere, was willing to donate their blood," Bratton said in a statement. "There aren’t words to describe how incredibly thankful I am that people are willing to donate blood to help a stranger."
