<a href="https://springfieldcrossings.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Springfield Crossings&nbsp;Enhanced Senior Living</a> is celebrating the release of 'Home, anew: 250 Voices of Belonging and Community, Celebrating Our Nation's 250th Year,' a commemorative book featuring over 250 stories and reflections from residents, family and team members across&nbsp;<a href="https://mqshealth.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Marquis Health Consulting Services'</a> senior living portfolio. The book is a collection of original essays that explore themes of home, resilience and connection, emphasizing the importance of community as America celebrates its 250th birthday. Springfield Crossings invites the public to attend a book signing and release party for 'Home, anew' on Monday, July 6 at 10:30 a.m. to meet the voices from this community that were selected to contribute their stories to the book. Some residents will also read their personal stories aloud.
'Home, anew' is now available for purchase on Amazon and all proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association. The Merchants of Swarthmore Summer Night Market is taking place Friday, July 17th from 5-9pm.&nbsp;Experience an exciting evening hosted by the Merchants of Swarthmore featuring late night shopping, food, and local pop-ups.
The summer market always has a fun, block party vibe. This year will include a DJ, mini golf, face painting, and outdoor games plus 20 local vendors, plenty of food trucks, water ice, lemonade, and more! You can also shop and dine local at many of the amazing Swarthmore businesses.
The Night Market, which was launched in 2023 by the Merchants of Swarthmore, has been a great late night shopping, community gathering, get out and have fun event that is held outdoors on Park Avenue in Swarthmore Town Center. The Merchants of Swarthmore are a group of town businesses collaborating to host more events to increase opportunities for more foot traffic and commerce in our business district.

The annual Purcellville Wine and Food Festival returns on Saturday, July 18, in Dillon’s Woods at the historic Fireman’s Field Complex (250 S. Nursery Avenue, Purcellville). The festival will take place from 2 to 8 p.m., inviting guests to gather with family and friends for an afternoon and evening of local wine, beer, food, live music, art, and more.
This year’s event will showcase 40 vendors, including wineries, breweries, food and snack vendors, and local exhibitors. Enjoy live music performances by the Rick Reaves Band, The Darby Brothers, and the Franklin Park Big Band. The “Arts in the Garden” section, hosted by the Purcellville Arts Council, will highlight local artists who will create works of art live on-site. Additional activities include face painting and a photo stand-in booth. 
Early bird ticket pricing is available through 5 p.m. on July 17: 
• Early bird admission (ages 17 and over): $5 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink tickets (6 oz wine or 12 oz beer): $8.50 (+ tax) 
• Early bird drink ticket package: 4 tickets for $32 (+ tax) 
• Early bird bottle of wine purchase: $35 (+ tax), available from participating wineries (bottles must be consumed on-site)
A souvenir glass will be provided with the purchase of the first drink ticket. Save time and money by purchasing your tickets in advance. 
The popular VIP experience returns for $275 (+ tax) and includes admission for six, a reserved table for six, three bottles of local wine, six souvenir glasses, six drink tickets, early entry to the festival, special commemorative gifts, and a selection of sweets and savories for the table.

Summertime Brings New Opportunities for Participation in Litter Photo Contest
Media, PA—With summer’s relaxed schedules, PRC invites Pennsylvanians to grab a camera or mobile device and photograph the worst—or most unusual—examples of litter in their communities. The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) is accepting entries for its annual Gene Capaldi Lens on Litter Photo Contest through October 31, 2026.
Entries should raise awareness of how litter threatens public health and safety, scenic beauty, property values, the environment, and pets or wildlife and are judged on: anti-litter message, originality, photographic technique, quality of photo, originality of title and severity of the litter.
Categories and prizes: First-, second-, and third-place prizes will be awarded in four categories—Student (through 12th grade), Adult, Before &amp; After Student (through 12th grade), and Before &amp; After Adult. Prizes are $500 (first), $250 (second), and $100 (third).
To qualify for the Before &amp; After categories, sponsored by Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, cleanup efforts must be registered with Keep PA Beautiful’s Pick-Up PA Program: <a href="https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/pick-up-pa/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/pick-up-pa/</a>.
Entry requirements: Each person may submit up to five photos (no smaller than 4×6 and no larger than 8×10). Each entry must include: entrant’s name, address, telephone number, email address, title given to photo, location of litter site and how you learned about the contest. Students only: age, grade, and school name. Entries submitted without all required information will be disqualified.

Since 1984, PRC has sponsored an annual Gene Capaldi Lens on Litter Photo contest, not to glorify litter but to bring attention to the litter problem in communities across Pennsylvania. Exposure leads to prevention!
Participants from across the state have submitted thousands of photos over the years. Contestants are eligible for monetary prizes up to $500. All submitted photos may be used by PRC and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful at their discretion.
Contest dates run from January 1 to October 31 each year.
NOTE: A new BEFORE &amp; AFTER category — sponsored by <a href="https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful</a> — has been added to the contest.
