Neighbors reported seeing a dark colored vehicle occupied by a white man and white woman in the rear of the home earlier in the morning.
Detective James Devaney responded and processed the scene. Information was relayed to officers and Patrolman Jeffrey Shull responded to a local jewelry store and discovered that some of the jewelry had been recently sold.
Devaney sent a regional message out to local police departments requesting assistance on any similar incidents or jewelry pawned at local jewelry stores.
On Dec. 5, Devaney was contacted by the New Castle County Police Department saying that they had a man and woman in custody matching the description for an incident in their area and the two were found to have the remaining Springfield stolen items in their possession.
