5 Year Old Gives Birthday Money To Delco Run for Heroes

Sam Burns gave more than $300 of his birthday money to the benefit run. Let's give the young philanthropist a cheer!

SPRINGFIELD, PA – In a time where its seems we only see but bad news, kids like Sam Burns from Delaware County but a little faith back into humanity.

Why? Because 5-year-old Sam donated more than $300 to the Delco Run For Heroes benefit race that was held in Springfield Township on Sunday Oct. 8

Not only was that his money, it was his birthday money which he recently received.

Sam donated $369 to the run, which funds the Delco Hero Scholarship Fund that gives scholarships to children and family members of fallen first responders in Delaware County.

Delaware County Councilman Dave White introduced Sam at the event and commended him for his selfless donation.

The crowd in attendance than sang happy birthday to the young donor.
