5K Benefiting Delco Women's Shelter

Mother's Home's first ever 5K event will help the shelter continue providing a safe haven for pregnant women in crisis and their babies.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Mother's Home, a women's shelter in Darby, is gearing up for its inaugural 5K Run and Walk that will help the shelter better serve mothers and their children in the Delaware County area.

The event will be held at 8 a.m., Sunday, June 11 at Cardinal O’Hara High School, 1701 Sproul Rd, Springfield.

Runner can register for $22.50 but if they wait until June 8, the price goes up to $27.50. Walkers can register for $12.50.

Mothers’ Home – located at 51 N. MacDade Boulevard in Darby – is a residential shelter that provides a safe haven for vulnerable, pregnant women in crisis and their babies. Mother's Home also offers counseling and training in positive life skills, parenting, and job preparation.

Moms and babies are able to live together for six months after birth in a supportive environment while working towards their goal of independence and self-sufficiency.
