Assault, Theft, Stolen Catalytic Converters: Springfield Crime Blotter

Police said a Philadelphia man was charged with assault after they say he punched his girlfriend in the face in the Days Inn parking lot.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 8 and Aug. 14.

Aug. 8 at 4:50 p.m.
A Mitsubishi vehicle parked in the emergency department parking lot at the Springfield Hospital had its catalytic converter stolen sometime after noon.

Aug. 8 at 5:01 p.m.
A 45-year-old female from Wallingford will be charged with Retail Theft after Macy’s security at the mall reported she stole over $121 worth of clothing. She is also suspected of thefts from June and July. She was taken into custody and later released pending charges.

Aug. 9 at 3:50 a.m.
A 14-year-old female from Drexel Hill was found loitering behind the Wawa store, 100 block of Saxer Avenue. She was transported and turned over to her mother. She will be charged with a curfew violation.

Aug. 9 at 9:37 a.m.
Giant Store employees, 900 block of Baltimore Pike, reported a male wheeled out a shopping cart full of groceries valued at over $470 without paying. They attempted to confront the male, and he ran from them across Baltimore Pike. Responding officers observed the male, and after a brief foot chase, he was taken into custody on Thomson Avenue. The 22-year-old male from Aldan was taken into custody and later released. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.

Aug. 9 at 5:48 p.m.
Target security, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, reported a male had stolen 12 electric toothbrushes valued over $1,000 and fled the store. Responding officers found a male fitting the description on Woodland Avenue near Greenbriar Lane. The male was taken into custody and identified a 32 years old and from Philadelphia. He was charged with Retail Theft, held for arraignment, and later transported to Delaware County Prison.

Aug. 10 at 1:29 a.m.
Two juvenile males from Morton will be charged with curfew violation after being found riding a bicycle on Leamy Avenue. They were turned over to parents.

Aug. 11 at 10:32 a.m.
Officers were called to the Days Inn, 600 block of Baltimore Pike, for a report of a female screaming and found a female on the ground in the lot when they arrived. Investigation revealed the female had been punched in the face by her boyfriend. The female received medical attention and was transported to a hospital. Yosef Abueldoleh, 23, Philadelphia, was arrested at the scene and charged with Assault. He was held for arraignment and posted bail.

Aug. 11 at 8:11 p.m.
A 27-year-old male from Media will be charged with Retail Theft after he stole $170 worth of clothing from Macy’s at the mall. He was taken into custody and later released.

Aug. 13 at 4:56 p.m.
Employees at AT&T reported a male entered the store and stole two iPads from a display. He fled in a waiting vehicle.

Aug. 14 at 5:57 a.m.
Officers were called to the 800 block of Springhaven Road for a report that a male was stealing a license plate from a resident’s vehicle. The male fled in a vehicle prior to arrival.

Aug. 14 at 8:20 a.m.
A resident of the unit block Colonial Park Drove reported her catalytic converter was stolen from her Volkswagen vehicle. Witnesses observed two males near the vehicle around 6 a.m.
