Assault, Thefts, Underage Drinking, More: Springfield Crime Blotter
A 46-year-old Springfield man was charged with assault and more after police said he struck another resident in the face while intoxicated.
SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between April 3 and April 9.

April 3 at 8 a.m.
Several spindles were kicked out of the fence that secures the front porch of Old Central School sometime over the weekend. Two male juveniles from Springfield were later identified as damaging the fence on March 31. Charges will be filed.
April 3 at 12:50 p.m.
Officers were called to the Five Below 400 block of South State Road to investigate a male who was yelling at people and passing vehicles for no reason. Officers identified a 47-year-old male from Drexel Hill. He continued to act disorderly and was finally picked up by a friend. He will be charged with Disorderly Conduct.

April 4 at 8:57 a.m.
A large amount of empty beer cans, vape pens, chairs and other trash was found in the wooded area adjacent to the baseball field at Walsh Park.
April 6 at 6:35 a.m.
Several unlocked vehicles were entered overnight along the 100 blocks of East Springfield and Kent roads.
April 7 at 3:55 a.m.
A 16-year-old male from Clifton Heights was found walking along Baltimore Pike. He was taken into custody and turned over to family. He will be charged with Curfew violation.
April 7 at 1:05 p.m.
A 20-year-old woman from Lansdowne was charged with Retail Theft after security officers at Target observed her steal cosmetics and sunglasses from the store.
April 7 at 7:10 a.m.
Officers patrolling the 200 block of Powell Road found that a resident had been struck in the face by a male who had entered a house on Powell Road. Officers identified Martin Heath, 46, of Springfield as the assailant. He was found to be intoxicated and had a short time earlier damaged a wreath on a neighbor’s front door. Heath was charged with Assault and other offenses and held for arraignment.
April 8 at 9:40 p.m.
Two 16-year-old males from Springfield and Morton will be charged with Township Parks violation after being found in Walsh Park during prohibited hours.
April 8 at 10:03 p.m.
Officers responded to Ellson Glen Park to investigate a large amount of juveniles loitering. Upon arrival of police approximately 30 juvenile males and females fled on foot. Empty cases of hard lemonade, beer, and twisted tea were found on the ground. Some of those who fled were stopped and identified and turned over to family. Citations for Underage Drinking and Township Parks violations will be filed.
April 8 at 10:52 p.m.
A resident of the 100 block of Parkview Drive reported his rear vinyl fence was damaged by unknown means.
April 9 at 9:14 a.m.
A resident of the unit block of Indian Rock Drive reported the catalytic converter stolen from a Honda vehicle overnight.
