3 Arrested for 2 Crimes Within Days at Macys

Plus: A nearly $600 cell phone was stolen from a Sprint store.

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Retail Theft—The Sprints PCS Store in the Springfield Mall between 8 and 8:41 p.m. on Dec. 12. The store reported that someone stole a Samsung Galaxy S111 cellular phone from a display in the front of the store. The security wire holding the phone was found to have been cut. The phone was valued at $599. 

Retail Theft—Macy's at the Springfield Mall at about 3:11 p.m. on Dec. 13. Store security reported that they had a woman in custody in connection with a retail theft at the store. Patrolman Patrick McKenna responded and took Adrienne Simmons, 22, of Philadelphia into custody and transported her to the Springfield Police Station. She was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property in connection with taking $254.35 worth of merchandise from the store. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.

Retail Theft—Macy's at about 6:16 p.m. on Dec. 16. Store security reported that they had two young women in custody in connection with a retail theft at the store. Patrolman Jeffrey Shull responded and took a 16-year-old woman from Yeadon and a 15-year-old woman from Collingdale, into custody and transported them to the Springfield Police Station. The 16 year old was issued a citation for retail theft for taking $102.50 worth of merchandise from the store. And the 15 year old was issued a citation for retail theft for taking $108 worth of merchandise from the store. Detective James Devaney is handling the investigation.
