Big Theft at Future Bank Site in Springfield

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Theft—construction site at Beneficial Savings Bank in the 500 block of Baltimore Pike at about 10:34 a.m. on Dec. 10. A construction company working on the site reported that sometime during the weekend someone entered the site and stole a large quantity of copper piping and fittings that had already been installed. The items were valued in excess of $3,000.

Criminal Mischief—200 block of Welsh Drive at about 3:52 p.m. on Dec. 10. A resident reported that sometime during the night someone slashed the front tire on the driver's side of the vehicle while it was parked on the street in front of the home.

Criminal Mischief—500 block of Philmar Court at about 9:08 p.m. on Dec. 10. A resident reported that sometime during the night someone damaged a religious Christmas sign located on the front lawn of the apartment building.
