Blotter: ID, Cash Taken While Dining at Panera

The following information was supplied by the Springfield Police Department. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven otherwise. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Retail Theft—Best Buy at about 2:26 p.m. on Jan. 15. Store security reported that they had a woman in custody for a retail theft at the store. Patrolman Scott Francis responded and took a 22-year-old Prospect Park woman into custody. She was issued a citation for retail theft for allegedly taking $59.99 worth of merchandise from the store and was released from the scene. The incident is under investigation by Detective James Devney.

Retail Theft—Best Buy at about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 18. Store security reported that they had a man in custody for a retail theft at the store. Patrolman Jeffrey Shull responded and took a 22-year-old Philadelphia man into custody and transported him to the Springfield Police Station. He was charged with retail theft in connection with taking $564.90 worth of merchandise from the store and receiving stolen property. The incident is under investigation by Detective Daniel McNeely.

Theft—Panera Bread in the 1000 block of Baltimore Pike at about 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 20. An Upper Darby resident reported that someone stole her identification cards and a large amount of cash from her wallet while she was eating lunch at the restaurant.
