Alphabet Soup For Nuts

Along with animal crackers, as a child I enjoyed alphabet soup. So I'm playing with the idea of blogging from A to Z. Think of this summer reading series as alphabet soup for nuts, rather than the chicken soup version.

I've heard tell that it wasn't the apple on the tree that was the cause of all our troubles, but the pair on the ground. Whatever the original sin, A is for apple and it's also the letter that begins many a troubled situation. You don't have to be a social psychologist to know that anger, aggression and anal-retentive behavior are rampant in our society.

I can only guess, as the acquittal decision has just been announced, how many angry mothers will weigh in; how many aggressive drivers will peel out; how many anals will chew pencils and pens to death.

May the force be with you and God help you. But remember, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

When the chosen people of God were released from the anger, aggression and obstinacy of those who enslaved them, they became nomads in the desert. God realized that confronting the chosen with survival needs would take their minds off the injustice they were dealt. Could a camping trip this summer provide the same help to a no-mad in the making?
