Well-meaning Charades. Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved well.
People mean well - it's just the mean part that hurts. For instance, the humor that goes, "I got it from Suzie who got it from Paul; Paul got it from Shirley who could've gotten it anywhere at all."
In fact, so-called social disease, let alone AIDS, is a mean way of meaning well. Gossip too is a mean way of meaning well. Even political campaigns are often mean ways of meaning well.
So what is to be done for fun? I can think of dates that involve verbal intercourse; conversations that point out the good qualities of others and competitions that respect persons and not just the rules of the game. But, by now, I'm considered to be an old-fashioned stick in the mud.
