Streaming Mad-ness: Nature brings sanity to the madness of the world.

Nature brings sanity to the madness of the world, so I take a walk through a park. Today, I was restored by a stream of Jazz coming from a car being waxed in the park. The music made light work for waxer and waner alike. The rhythmic movement of cloth on car and foot on path made for efforts in concert.

This kind of streaming, being swept along and carried aloft through life's drudgery, is surprisingly fluent as John O'Donohue's poem narrates, "I would love to live like a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding."

Conversely, streaming news, podcasts and movies has you plumbing the depths of silt and slime just to while away your time.

In jazz-lingo, it's a real drag, man! And no matter how down it makes you feel, you're tempted to passively go lower. But how low can you go? Yes, techno-streaming madness is anything but uplifting and not worth the waste (waist?) you get mired in. As W.C. Fields would have it: "Take the bull by the tail and face the situation."

Or, take a nature hike and submerge yourself in a different stream of consciousness.
