I See (Through) You

The corporate world sees transparency as just another image-management strategy, rather than what it is meant to be.

Have you noticed that it's only companies, projects and campaigns from which we need transparency? From people, we need honesty and integrity - more like trans-parent-cy! The super-ego, in Freudian terms, is the parent who follows you across (trans) time and places. Only your parent/super-ego sees through you and sees you through the dilemmas of life ("It's complicated.")

The Big Lie here is the corporation as defined: with the status and rights of an individual/person but without the parent/super-ego to hold it accountable. Add to it the fact that a corporation's stockholders are not accountable for anything except its ability to make a profit and pay a dividend. Or to put it in Amerikans: We can and must profit from any and every situation.

No wonder the corporate world sees transparency as just another image-management strategy rather than what it is meant to be, viz., an honest, accountable presentation (and monitoring) of the 'legal self'. There is a difference between holding your 'legal self' to an ethical standard of 'Do unto others before they can do unto you' and the moral one (The Golden Rule) that human beings are asked to abide.

So I hope that I will not be the only one to see through the corporation that is too big/important/necessary to fail as having already failed us.
