Like Stink on a Skunk

Boy, did she stink pretty.

Such was the description, by the governor of Montana, of how he is going to keep after the oil corp responsible for the cleanup of the Yellowstone River spill that threatens farmers' livelihood.

It's a shame that the plants, fish and animals of Montana don't have an executive-enforcer as well. Something stinks alright and we're all downwind from it.

S is for scoundrel, as in those who would abscond from the truth of the law. The spirit is willing, of course, but the letter is ineffective.

Scoundrels, like skunks, throw their stink from themselves. It's always others who suffer the inconvenience (read:medical bills), pay the price (read:bailout), and are left with the massive cleanup (read:superfund) when the 'skunk' simply chasses away. For scoundrels practice biological warfare under the guise of economic competitiveness. They seem like they would make a nice companion/pet, but they dance to an unchained melody.

The story is told of a scoundrel who went to church only to find himself sitting behind a rather large woman whose dress was sticking to where she had been sitting. He, naturally the helping kind, pulled the dress from its stuck location. With that, the woman turned and rebuked him; to which he responded by re-inserting the dress to its original position.

How do I know that the man was a scoundrel? I could smell the woman's perfume from a mile away.
