O-Who else?

O is for the color of earth and the strength of iron. She paints our world in a religious sort of way. She is a product of the South that has added flavor to many northern culinary tastes. Reminds me of ochre, really.

The Bible is her trumpet as her worth in gold would be coveted even by the likes of a King Solomon. No less her home's display of wood and precious stones - harp and stairway to divine glories. Indeed, the Ophir of salvation history.

O, I forgot to mention her gift for not only embracing, but ennobling, the many who have come to her in flight. Her roots she nourishes and her branches she thrusts out to the delight of the masses. She has retreated into the shadows, yet continues somehow to be a force and a guiding light. She has made us her own - by being mother, sister, daughter and friend throughout the years.
