Burglary, Assault, DUI Crash, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

A 53-year-old Springfield woman is charged with burglary and assault after police said she broke into a North Norwinden Drive home Monday.

SPRINGFIELD, PA —

March 7 at 9:17 a.m.
A resident of the 200 block of East Leamy Avenue. reported a doorbell camera stolen from the front door.

March 7 at 3:35 p.m.
The construction company completing work on the 200 block of West Avenue reported that sometime overnight someone tried to remove the trackhoe vehicle that was parked, and also stole items from inside. Witnesses observed the trackhoe moving and damaging a curb before the subject left the area.

March 7 at 4:33 p.m.
A resident of the 400 block of Briarhill Road reported a delivery package was stolen from the property.

March 8 at 10:06 a.m.
Officers responded to the 700 block of Beatty Road for a report of a crash and the striking vehicle attempting to drive away. Officers located the vehicle on Beatty View Lane with heavy front-end damage. It was learned the vehicle had struck a curb before trying to leave the area. The driver, Alaya Roberson, 23, of Newark, Delawarwe, was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a quantity of marijuana. She submitted to a blood test and was held for arraignment. Two passengers, a 25-year-old female and a 30-year-old male, both of Philadelphia, were taken into custody for drug possession and warrants.

March 8 at 12:18 p.m.
The business owner of a business along the 100 block of Baltimore Pike reported that at about 3:44 a.m., someone entered the rear door and removed a briefcase from an office. Det. McNeely is investigating.

March 8 at 11:47 p.m.
Officer Lord stopped a vehicle which was displaying a license plate reported stolen out of Philadelphia on the 600 block of Baltimore Pike. The driver, 30-year-old male from Upper Darby, was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Folcroft and was turned over to Folcroft Police. Charges are pending.

March 12 at 12:15 p.m.
A catalytic converter was stolen from a Mitsubishi vehicle parked at the Springfield Mall. March 12 at 8:36 p.m. Officers investigated a crash in which a vehicle struck a pole on Baltimore Pike at Saxer Avenue. The driver, 23-year-old male from Morton, was found to be intoxicated and taken into custody. He submitted to a blood test and was later released. Charges for DUI and traffic offenses are pending.

March 13 at 1:21 a.m.
Officers responded to a house on the unit block of North Norwinden Drive for a report of a break-in and assault. The resident/victim had been struck by an object, and cash was stolen. The female suspect left and went nearby to her residence, where she was taken into custody by police. The victim was treated by medical personnel. Linda Roffo, 52, of Springfield, was charged with Burglary, Robbery, Aggravated Assault and other offenses and held for arraignment.
