Media Fellowship House Inc

Join us on Sunday, August 16 from 4-6 PM for a potluck meal with a twist. Meet your neighbors and help weave some community connections. 

Here's how it will work: We'll gather between 4 and 6PM, no official start or end. Come when you can and stay as long as you'd like! 
Please bring a dish to share made from locally produced food. This could be something from your personal garden, your local farmers market or CSA, or something you've recently foraged. 
We also ask you to think about something you need or could use help with (Request) and/or something you can offer to help with (Offer). Requests and Offers can be simple things like offering to provide a ride to a doctor appointment, sharing a conversation for an hour, or playing a game. They could also be skills that you have and are willing to share, such as how to do some kind of artwork, gardening help, pet care or handy work around the house. It's really anything you can imagine! At the end of the night, we will match the Requests to the Offers so that everyone can get the help they need. *Note: If you can't think of an offer and a request, come anyway! Maybe you'll be inspired.
Besides sharing a delicious meal, our goal is to have you leave with at least one simple connection to help someone or have someone help you. Most importantly, we want you to have fun, meet some neighbors and connect.
That's it! 

The TTGM Resilience Working Group will have hosts circulating to help you find the right connection piece. We'll also have a table with useful information on preparing for emergencies, learning more about resilience and edible foods that grow in our area (foraging).

When: Sunday, August 16, anytime between 4PM and 6PM (the earlier the better!)
What to bring: A dish made from local food and an idea of one thing you can offer and one action you could use help with.

Who are we? The TTGM Resilience Working Group seeks to help create a more resilient community of neighbors helping neighbors. We promote small actions that help move our neighborhood forward in service of a more interconnected and prepared community for changing times. Making people feel welcome and included is central to our mission.

Summertime Brings New Opportunities for Participation in Litter Photo Contest
Media, PA—With summer’s relaxed schedules, PRC invites Pennsylvanians to grab a camera or mobile device and photograph the worst—or most unusual—examples of litter in their communities. The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) is accepting entries for its annual Gene Capaldi Lens on Litter Photo Contest through October 31, 2026.
Entries should raise awareness of how litter threatens public health and safety, scenic beauty, property values, the environment, and pets or wildlife and are judged on: anti-litter message, originality, photographic technique, quality of photo, originality of title and severity of the litter.
Categories and prizes: First-, second-, and third-place prizes will be awarded in four categories—Student (through 12th grade), Adult, Before &amp; After Student (through 12th grade), and Before &amp; After Adult. Prizes are $500 (first), $250 (second), and $100 (third).
To qualify for the Before &amp; After categories, sponsored by Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, cleanup efforts must be registered with Keep PA Beautiful’s Pick-Up PA Program: <a href="https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/pick-up-pa/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/pick-up-pa/</a>.
Entry requirements: Each person may submit up to five photos (no smaller than 4×6 and no larger than 8×10). Each entry must include: entrant’s name, address, telephone number, email address, title given to photo, location of litter site and how you learned about the contest. Students only: age, grade, and school name. Entries submitted without all required information will be disqualified.

<h1>Lens on Litter Contest</h1>
Since 1984, PRC has sponsored an annual Gene Capaldi Lens on Litter Photo contest, not to glorify litter but to bring attention to the litter problem in communities across Pennsylvania. Exposure leads to prevention!
Participants from across the state have submitted thousands of photos over the years. Contestants are eligible for monetary prizes up to $500. All submitted photos may be used by PRC and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful at their discretion.
Contest dates run from January 1 to October 31 each year.
NOTE: A new BEFORE &amp; AFTER category — sponsored by <a href="https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful</a> — has been added to the contest. To qualify for this category, clean up efforts must&nbsp;be registered with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful’s <a href="https://www.keeppabeautiful.org/programs/pick-up-pa/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Pick Up PA</a> program.

Take a Free Tour of a Victorian Splendor on the Delaware! The Grundy Museum is a jewel of historic house museums on the banks of the Delaware River in Historic Bristol Borough. Fully restored from 2018-2025 and features rooms decorated in different styles spanning the Rococo Revival to the Aesthetic Movement to the Edwardian period, the Museum was awarded the Victorian Society in America Award for the exemplary restoration and rehabilitation. This landmark preserves the legacy of the Grundy family and offers visitors a unique glimpse into life during the Victorian Era. The Museum’s extensive collection is highly unusual for a historic house museum as almost all the items belonged to the Grundy family. The museum serves as a cultural destination for those interested in antiques, local history, and architecture. Docents take visitors through the meticulously restored rooms, showcasing the elaborate furnishings and sharing stories of the Grundy family’s contributions to Bristol Borough, Pennsylvania, and national affairs. I also perform with my classic rock band The Garage Bandits most weekends and can help students get comfortable playing in front of other people. This class will run for 6 sessions over the course of 7 weeks on Mondays from 7:30pm to 8:30pm. The focus of this class will be on teaching song melodies to beginners, such as Ode To Joy by Beethoven and Happy Birthday. Each week I will introduce slightly more complicated melodies that will help develop students' ability to play single note melodies on the guitar.
