Catalytic Converter Theft, Hit-And-Run: Springfield Crime Blotter
Theft charges are pending against a Philadelphia woman following a fight inside Chuck E. Cheese, police said. See full details here.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 22 and Aug. 28.

Aug. 22 at 8:19 a.m.
Officers were called to State Road near Springfield Road to investigate a crash involving a vehicle which struck three cars and fled south. The vehicle drove over a grass median and continued in opposing lanes of travel to leave the scene. Delaware County Sheriff officers observed the striking vehicle stopped on Route 1 near Middletown. A 45-year-old male from Philadelphia was taken into custody and brought to Springfield. Charges for hit-and-run and other traffic offenses will be filed.
Aug. 22 at 9:25 a.m.
A business on the 900 block of West Sproul Road reported one of its Nissan delivery vans had its catalytic converter stolen sometime over the weekend.

Aug. 22 at 1:38 p.m.
A 42-year-old male from Drexel Hill was taken into custody after appearing intoxicated while he drove his vehicle and crashed at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Norwinden Drive. He submitted to a blood test, and charges for DUI are pending.
Aug. 22 at 4:52 p.m.
A 63-year-old male from Sharon Hill was stopped by Macy’s security after he stole numerous sunglasses totaling over $1450. He was taken into our custody and released. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
Aug. 24 at 5:37 a.m.
A resident of an apartment on the 400 block of East Woodland Avenue reported a male subject gained access to her first floor balcony on Aug. 20 in the afternoon. It was unknown if he gained access to the apartment, and nothing was known to be missing.
Aug. 25 at 10:26 a.m.
Two unlocked vehicles were entered overnight on the 400 block of Blair Road. A small amount of coins was taken from one.
Aug. 25 at 5:27 p.m.
Target security at the mall reported a female stopped after she stole two televisions. The 45-year-old from Chester was taken into custody and found to have an active arrest warrant from Brookhaven. She was turned over to them, and charges for Retail Theft will be filed.
Aug. 25 at 8:13 p.m.
Two underage males from California and North Carolina were stopped after being observed on the 600 block of Baltimore Pike carrying alcoholic beverages. One was found to be in possession of false identification that he had used to purchase the beverages. Both will be cited for Underage Drinking.
Aug. 25 at 10:10 p.m.
A female driver reported that a group of juveniles blocked their way on the 200 block of South Rolling Road and started banging and walking on her car. One male got into the back seat of the car. Responding officers located the group and identified three males from Springfield as the actors. The three were taken into custody and turned over to their parents. Charges for Harassment and Disorderly Conduct will be filed.
Aug. 25 at 11:29 p.m.
Officers responded to the 200 block of North State Road to investigate a crash involving an overturned vehicle and the driver trapped. The driver was assisted out of the vehicle and found to be intoxicated. The 65-year-old male from Linwood was taken to a hospital for treatment and submitted to a blood test. Charges for DUI are pending.
Aug. 27 at 6:05 p.m.
Officers responded to Chuck E. Cheese, 300 block of Baltimore Pike, for a fight call. Upon arrival they located several subjects outside holding a female. Chuck E. Cheese employees said that the female stole a customer’s purse and tried to run out of the store. The 30-year-old female from Philadelphia was taken into custody and later released. Theft charges are pending.
Aug. 28 at 11:22 a.m.
A 29-year-old male was taken into custody after trespassing on a property on the 600 block of Sherman Road. The male was also found to have an active arrest warrant from Chester County and was turned over to Chester County authorities.
