Dog Dies After Being Trapped Under Log In Springfield

Rest in peace, Buddy.

SPRINGFIELD, PA – A dog that was rescued by Springfield Fire Company Tuesday has died, sadly.

The fire company responded to the 100 block of North Hillcrest Road for a report of a dog trapped under a log.

When crews arrived, they found the dog pinned under the log.

Responders deployed hydraulic rams to to lift the log off of the dog.

The dog sustained some injuries and the crew put the dog on a backboard and administered oxygen. One responder laid with the dog to try to comfort it.

Police took the dog to a veterinary hospital, but sadly the dog has since died.

Crews were on site for about 40 minutes.

The dog, named Buddy, went missing June 18, according to the Lost Pet of Delaware County Facebook page.
