Fighting, Thefts, Curfew Violation, More: Springfield Crime Blotter

Police said two men defended themselves against another man who as armed with a knife at a SEPTA trolley stop. See the full blotter here.

SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Sept. 21 and Sept. 24.

Sept. 21 at 8:20 a.m.
A resident of the 200 block of Gibbons Road reported his ATV stolen from the rear of his property. It appeared as if someone cut a hole in his fence to gain entry and push the vehicle off the property. Sgt. j. DiTrolio is investigating.

Sept. 21 at 2:05 p.m.
Officer Bergman observed a male exit the CVS Store, 300 block of Baltimore Pike, carrying a bag and being followed by CVS employees. The male was stopped and found to possess stolen merchandise from the store. He had stolen close to $900 worth of merchandise. He was taken into custody and processed. The male was found to have an active arrest warrant from SEPTA PD for assault and was turned over to them. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.

Sept. 22 at 6:50 p.m.
Officers responded to the SEPTA trolley stop at the mall to investigate a report of a fight. It was found that two males defended themselves against a third male who possessed a knife. The knife was not used during the fight. One male suffered a minor injury to his head and was treated. Investigation is continuing.

Sept. 22 at 9:26 p.m.
A member of LA Fitness, 800 block of Baltimore Pike, reported that while he exercised, someone removed the lock from his locker and stole his wallet which contained cash and credit cards. The credit cards were later found to have been used at several locations. Det. Cutcliff is investigating.

Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m.
A 42-year-old female was taken into custody after Macy’s at the mall reported she stole over $160 worth of jewelry. She was processed and later released. Charges for Retail Theft will be filed.

Sept. 24 at 12:21 a.m.
Two 15-year-old females from Ridley will be cited for curfew violation after being found loitering on the 400 block of Hemlock Lane. A resident of the 400 block of Foulke Lane had reported they knocked on her door. The females were taken into custody and released to their parents.
