Harassment, Catalytic Converter Theft, More: Springfield Crime Blotter
Police said the catalytic converter was cut off of a Volkswagon late last week on the 500 block of Springview Lane. See more details here.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between Aug. 16 and Aug. 20.

Aug. 16 at 2:51 a.m.
A 20-year-old male from Philadelphia and 19-year-old female from Ridley were found in Crowell Park during prohibited hours. A quantity of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia were found in their possession. They were released at the scene, and drug charges are pending.
Aug. 16 at 1:31 p.m.
Target security at the mall reported a male had stolen over $670 worth of dental products and allergy medication and left the store. Officers were in the area and stopped the suspect in the parking lot. James Barbour, 37, of Springfield, was taken into custody. He is a suspect in two prior thefts from July. He was charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment.

Aug. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
A resident reported the catalytic converter stolen from his Volkswagon while it was parked on the unit block of South Brookside Road.
Aug. 17 at 5:28 a.m.
A witness reported observing two males underneath a parked vehicle on the 500 block of Springview Lane using a loud tool. The subjects left the area prior to police arrival. The males had cut and stolen a catalytic converter from a Volkswagon vehicle that was parked in the driveway.
Aug. 17 at 8 p.m.
Ulta at the mall reported two males entered the store and stole over $300 worth of fragrance. They left in a vehicle which was parked in front of the store.
Aug. 19 at 2:48 p.m.
A patron of the LA Fitness reported that while inside the center, someone stole her gym bag from a secured locker. Credit cards were used at several nearby businesses, and cash and a wallet were also stolen.
Aug. 20 at 10 a.m.
A resident of the 100 block of Harwicke Road reported someone harassed by knocking on the door and running, which has been an ongoing problem. A suspect was identified using nearby video surveillance. On Aug. 21 at about 12:03 a.m., the suspect was observed on Powell Road and in violation of the curfew ordinance. The male was identified as a 16-year-old male from Springfield who will be charged with Harassment and Disorderly Conduct as well as Curfew.
Aug. 20 at 5:23 p.m.
A shopper at the Giant store, 900 block of Baltimore Pike, reported that a male had been following her around the store. She said at one point she briefly walked away from her shopping cart to get a product from a shelf and observed the male right next to her cart. She later realized her wallet was missing from inside her purse. Credit cards were found to have been used, and cash was stolen.
