Police said a woman was charged with trespassing after she was found inside a Walgreen's store before it was open. See full details here.
SPRINGFIELD, PA —
Aug. 1 at 5:21 p.m.
A 41-year-old female from Chester was arrested and will be charged with Retail Theft after Macy’s security at the mall reported she stole $190 worth of Polo clothing. The female was released pending charges being filed.
Aug. 2 at 7:14 p.m.
A resident of the 1000 Edwards Drive reported being distracted by a male who had shown at the house to offer tree work. While the resident was outside with the male, the male used a walkie-talkie type device to communicate to others. After the male left, the resident found that someone had entered the house and removed cash from two wallets in a bedroom and rummaged through other areas of the house.

Aug. 3 at 8:42 a.m.
We took several reports of thefts from vehicles and attempted thefts from vehicles, all which occurred overnight in the area of Maplewood Road, 300 block of South Rolling Road, 200 block of East Woodland Avenue, Kennerly Road, and Sharpless Road. A vehicle was stolen on Maplewood Road and recovered later in the morning in New Castle, Delaware. Det. Cutcliff is investigating.
Aug. 3 at 11:17 a.m.
Employees at Walgreen’s, unit block of Baltimore Pike, reported a male subject had just left the store after stealing over $200 worth of over the counter medication. Sgt. Welsh was in the area and spotted the male and recovered the merchandise. A 33-year-old man from Kinzers, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody and charged with Retail Theft. He was arraigned and transported to Delaware County Prison.

Aug. 4 at 5:45 p.m.
A patron of the Verizon Wireless store, 700 block of West Sproul Road, was there to upgrade a cell phone. While her phone was on the counter waiting to exchange it for new, a male approached and stole the phone and fled out of the store.
Aug. 5 at 7:05 a.m.
Officers were called to the Walgreen’s store to investigate a report that a female had been inside the store before opening hours. An employee said when she opened the store, she observed a female walking to the bathroom area. An emergency exit alarm then was heard, and the female was not located. Officer Bierling located a suspect in the rear of Miller’s Ale House, and she was identified as the trespasser. A 19-year-old woman was taken into custody and charged with trespassing. She was later transported to Delaware County Prison.
Aug. 5 at 10:45 p.m.
Officers were called to Springfield Road near Britton Road to assist a Lyft driver who reported being harassed by a fare. Responding officers found a 52-year-old female from Media intoxicated, yelling, and trespassing on a property. The Lyft driver reported the female had insulted her and yelled at her during the drive, complaining about the direction the driver was taking. The female also threw a soda at the driver, pulled off an iPad from a seat and threw it at the driver, and bent the driver’s fingers. The female was taken into custody and transported to headquarters. She was later released to a friend. Charges for Harassment, Disorderly Conduct, and Public Drunkenness will be filed.
Aug. 6 at 12:38 p.m.
A 67-year-old female from Collingdale will be charged with Retail Theft after Macy’s security at the mall reported she stole $250 worth of Polo clothing.
Aug. 6 at 10:03 p.m.
While on patrol on the 100 block of Harwicke Road, Officer Fiore observed two juvenile males harass a resident and run. Officer Fiore was able to stop one of the males, who was identified as 13 years old from Springfield. This male was taken into custody and turned over to his parent. Investigation found the other male to be 13 years old from Springfield. Both will be charged with Harassment and Disorderly Conduct.
