Intense, Powerful, Energetic: Jazzercise
Need a workout? Jazzercise combines aerobics, muscle strengthening, stretching and dance with today's most popular music for a fun and high-energy workout.

“Here we go, let’s get sweaty, push ladies! Work it out, what a great morning!” begins instructor Alison Faga at the Thursday, June 2, 9:30 a.m. Jazzercise class.
Choreographed dancing, lifting weights, stretching muscles, and burning fat is certainly a way to get any day started.
Located at the , Springfield residents have the opportunity to get in shape and feel good through Jazzercise classes each week. And it is no ordinary workout.

Kathy Cimina, franchise owner of 25 years, became certified as an instructor in July of 1986 after taking classes for a year and a half.
“I just loved the combination of dance, music, and exercise; it’s highly motivating,” she said. “Many of my clients who have been with me for years feel the same.”

This upbeat class incorporates strengthening with weights, dance-based cardio, stretching and toning muscles for maximum fat burn. The 60-minute powerful workout can effectively burn up to 600 calories per class.
“I’ve been doing this for a good 15 years on and off,” said participant Patty Nicosia. “It makes you feel great when you leave; strong, motivated, confident.”
The class is choreographed to today’s most popular music. A variety of country, jazz and pop keep the atmosphere upbeat and high in positive energy.
“There is music for everyone, that’s the way it always is,” affirms Faga, who has been instructing for 20 years. “Always changing, every class is different.”
The class is open to all and very encouraging towards new participants.
“The nice thing about Jazzercise is that it is all-encompassing, anyone can do it. Any age, shape or size can benefit from our program,” says Cimina. “All of our instructors offer safety tips and modifications for new students, so that they can reap the benefits of our cardio work and core strength training when they start.”
Class memberships are available for $38 monthly, plus a $25 joining fee. If not a member, the fee per class is $10 and $5 for students. Babysitting is available for members at $3 per child.
Classes are offered on the following days and times:
Mondays-Fridays 9:30 a.m.
Mondays-Thursdays 5:30 p.m.
Mondays and Tuesdays 6:45 p.m.
Wednesdays 6:30 p.m.
Saturdays 8:30 a.m.
Saturdays 10 a.m.
