Police charged two people from Delaware, one 19 and the other 13, with crimes related to breaking into vehicles. See the full blotter here.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter recently.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between July 4 and July 10.

July 4
In the early morning hours, several residents reported thefts from vehicles. Vehicles were entered on Kent Road, Larchwood Road, Rose Lane, and Schuyler Road. All vehicles were left unlocked.
July 4 at 3:21 p.m.
Target, 1200 Baltimore Pike, reported a shoplifter in custody. A 27-year-old from Chester woman was observed at the self-checkout bagging merchandise without scanning. The unpaid merchandise totaled $582. She was arrested for Retail Theft and held for arraignment.

July 5 at 9:58 a.m.
Walgreens, 2 Baltimore Pike, reported a theft. A customer selected merchandise and walked out of the store without paying. A description of the offender was provided to police. Police observed the offender in the area and he fled. He was later apprehended after a brief struggle with officers. A 24-year-old Philadelphian was charged with Retail Theft.
July 6 at 1:30 a.m.
Sgt. Patrick McKenna observed 2 juveniles operating a dirt bike in the 300 block of Baltimore Pike. A traffic stop was conducted and the dirt bike was not street legal. Both riders were 14 years old from Springfield. They were released to parents and will receive citations for curfew and traffic offenses.
July 6 at 3:14 p.m.
Macy’s, 1300 Baltimore Pike, reported shoplifters in custody. Alice Patricia Hope, 60, of Darby, and Joyce Jacqueline Hope, 66, of Long Island, New York, were observed concealing jewelry and clothing totaling over $2,000. They were detained by security and turned over to police. Both were charged with Retail Theft and held for arraignment.
July 7 at 2:32 a.m.
Officers were called to the Parkway Inn, 675 Baltimore Pike, for a domestic dispute involving the theft of a cell phone. A male suspect left the room prior to police arrival and was later located in a nearby parking lot. Cristian Simo, 24, of Jersey City, New Jersey, refused to follow police commands to stop and tried to walk from the area. Simo resisted arrest and was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was charged with Theft and Assault, and held for arraignment.
July 7 at 3:48 p.m.
While investigating a crash at the intersection of Powell Road and Saxer Avenue, one of the drivers, a 41-year-old male from Broomall, was found to be under the influence of a narcotic. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and submitted to a blood test. Charges for DUI are pending.
July 8 at 9:40 a.m.
Target, 857 Baltimore Pike, reported a retail theft. The suspect fled the store and left the scene in a vehicle. A description was provided to police. Officers Bradley Lord and Jonathan Sweeney observed the suspect vehicle on East Woodland Avenue and conducted a traffic stop. A 34-year-old Philadelphia man admitted to the theft and was placed under arrest. A small quantity of pills was also located in the vehicle. He was charged with Retail Theft and Drug Possession, and held for arraignment.
July 9 at 5 a.m.
While on patrol in the unit block of Baltimore Pike, Officer Bradley Lord observed an occupied vehicle parked next to a closed business with the headlights off and engine running. As he pulled close to the vehicle, the driver put the headlights on and drove west on Baltimore Pike. The driver operated erratically and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver, a 29-year-old female from Philadelphia, was found to be intoxicated. She was arrested for DUI and later released to her boyfriend.
July 9 at 5:41 a.m.
A resident on the 200 block of Orchard Road reported juveniles throwing beer cans on her property. Officers located a 15-year-old from Florida who was found to be intoxicated. He was charged with Underage Drinking and released to his mother. A 16-year-old from Springfield fled from police and was later identified. He will be cited by mail.
July 10 at 3:03 a.m.
A resident of the Rolling Green Apartments, 257 N. State Road, reported a suspicious person trying to enter vehicles. Officers located a running vehicle in the lot, which was determined to be stolen from New Jersey. Jyair Gordon, 19, Wilmington, Delaware, was found in the stolen vehicle with a backpack containing suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Officers checked the complex and located a 13-year-old male, also from Wilmington, who was entering vehicles. The juvenile was released to his mother with charges pending. Gordon was charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Drug offenses. He was held for arraignment.
