Join Crozer-Keystone at Ridley Health Awareness Day and YMCA Healthy Kids Day on April 18th

This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 18, 9 a.m. - 12 noon at Ridley High School.

The 25th anniversary Ridley Health Awareness Day and YMCA Healthy Kids Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 18th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Ridley High School (901 Morton Avenue, Folsom). This free event is one that local families look forward to each year for the free health screenings, 70+ health information stations, kids’ activities, and much more.

Local residents have a unique opportunity to receive numerous free health screenings during the event that include blood pressure, BMI, cognitive memory, dental, eating disorder, foot and ankle, hearing, skin scans and spinal. In addition, free cholesterol/glucose screenings will be offered at a special time of 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Fasting from the midnight before is required for only the cholesterol/glucose screenings. The first 100 people to receive any health screening at the event prior to 10:30 a.m. will receive a free breakfast and those receiving screenings between 10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. will receive a complimentary gift.

Crozer-Keystone Health System and Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park continue their annual sponsorship of this event as it provides a great opportunity to connect with the local community. In addition to coordinating several of the screenings listed above, Crozer-Keystone staff will also be available during the event to provide information covering the following areas of interest: community health education, tobacco cessation and prevention, nutrition, kids asthma management program, heart health, stroke prevention, diabetes, senior health services/CK Village, emergency department, primary care, cancer prevention, Healthline Services, CPR/safety demonstrations, women and children’s health, behavioral health, mental health, Crozer-Keystone Bariatrics, Crozer-Keystone Pain Management, Crozer-Keystone Sleep Centers, Crozer-Keystone Sports Medicine, Regional Rehabilitation Center at Taylor Hospital, Healthplex Sports Club, Delaware County WIC program and DCTS Medical Careers.

In addition to the health screenings and health information that will be available, attendees of all ages are sure to enjoy the special activities planned for the event. These activities include: family Zumba, preschool dance, massage, character appearances, salsa dancing, Fireworks Dance Team, senior line dancing, scavenger hunt, grow your own sprout, Y Snack making station, moon bounce, face painting, healthy cooking demos, Ridley Drama Group and more.

Crozer-Keystone and Taylor Hospital join other sponsors for this event that include the Ridley Township Board of Commissioners, Taylor Community Foundation (TCF), Ridley School District and the Ridley Area YMCA.
