Local Animal Rights Activist And Author To Hold Book Event At Tunkhannock's Founder's Day
Corky Scranta, Author of The Wild Ones, Will Be Joining This Year's Celebration of the 33rd Annual Founder's Day
Tunkhannock, PA (June 25, 2015) – In addition to the regular streams of face painters, artists, jewelry makers, and delicious homemade goods, this year’s Founder’s Day will also include a book event by author Corky Scranta.
Having released her latest book earlier this month in Central Park, New York, the author is returning to her roots this Saturday to speak about her new book and the amazing cause it supports.
Told through vividly stunning horse photography, Scranta’s The Wild Ones offers the history and politics of the struggle to protect wild horses in the American West. Dating as far back as the post-Civil War era, this struggle continues to this day with barely thirty-five thousand wild horses left and more than fifty thousand being unethically left in government captivity.

“I felt a need to educate people with the truth about the Bureau of Land Management, not the propaganda that they send out,” shared Corky.
In an effort to allow readers to truly connect with the cause, purchase of The Wild Ones guarantees a 10% donation to Return to Freedom and a 10% donation to the International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros.
