Man Wanted in Theft Case Tries to Outrun Cops, Police Say
He ends up running into a lot of trouble.

Retail Theft—Best Buy Store at about 1:26 p.m. on Feb. 7. Patrolman Joseph Prendergast responded to the store for a man who was allegedly involved in a retail theft and received information that the man was fleeing the store on foot.
He was observed running in the rear lot onto the 600 block of Saxer Ave. He was eventually apprehended in the Best Buy parking lot where he was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield Police Station.

The man was charged with retail theft in connection with taking $199.99 worth of merchandise from the store, receiving stolen property, and disorderly conduct. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.
