Man Killed, Tried To Behead Dead Girlfriend In Delco: Reports
Police in Clifton Heights reportedly found the man trying to behead his girlfriend after killing her in an apartment.
CLIFTON HEIGHTS, PA — A man in Delaware County is accused of trying to dismember and behead his girlfriend after killing her, according to reports.
Court records show Nicholas Peter Scurria, 32, of Clifton Heights, has been charged with first- and third-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and possession of an instrument of crime.
Clifton Heights police said they took a Scurria into custody early Friday after finding him inside an apartment in 400 block of South Springfield Road with a dead woman, reportedly his girlfriend, NBC10 reports.

According to Action News, Scurria and his girlfriend were fighting when the altercation turned deadly.
Police were called to the apartment for a domestic disturbance and found Scurria using a machete to cut off the woman's head, Fox 29 reports.

The identity of the victim has not been released.
Scurria was denied bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 22, court documents show.
