Meth, Guns, DUI Crash, More: Springfield Crime Blotter
A Pennsylvania woman and a New Jersey man were found with methamphetamine after they were unconscious at a bus stop, police said.
SPRINGFIELD, PA — Police in Springfield Township issued their weekly crime blotter Monday.
Incidents in the blotter occurred between May 30 and June 4.

May 30 at 4:39 p.m.
Officers responded to the Target store at the mall for a report that a male had just stolen baby formula and walked out towards the rear of the property. Officers located the suspect and identified him at the trolley stop. Richard Catalano, 27, of Long Branch, New Jersey, was taken into custody and charged with Retail Theft. He was arraigned and transported to Delaware County Prison.
May 30 at 7:01 p.m.
While investigating a group of people loitering at Rolling Green Park, it was found that one of their vehicles displayed a stolen license plate from Philadelphia. The subject driving attempted to leave the park with the vehicle and was stopped on Hempstead Road. Marvin Rodriguez-Murcia, 32, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody and charged with Receiving Stolen Property. He was held for arraignment.

June 1 at 7:48 a.m.
A male and female were observed unconscious at the bus stop on the 1100 block of Baltimore Pike. Officers made contact with the two and found them both in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The male also had an arrest warrant from New Jersey for burglary. Both were taken into custody and identified as Melanie Beckman, 37, of Houston, Pennsylvania, and Nicholas Leotta, 35, of Brick, New Jersey. Both were charged with drug offenses and held for arraignment.
June 1 at 11:21 p.m.
While on patrol, Officer Lord observed a vehicle travelling with no headlights illuminated and stopped the vehicle on the 500 block of West Springfield Road. The driver was identified and found to have an arrest warrant from Philadelphia. A firearm was also found inside the vehicle. Jahsil Todd, 21, Philadelphia, was charged with weapons offenses and traffic offenses and held for arraignment.
June 2 at 9:30 p.m.
Officers heard a very loud group of people loitering inside the wooded area adjacent to Memorial Park. As officers approached the group, they all started to run. Numerous beer cans were in the area of the group, and three people were stopped. Two females and one male, all juveniles from Springfield, were brought to headquarters and turned over to their parents. Citations for Underage Drinking will be filed.
June 3 at 8 p.m.
Officers are investigating a report in which three juvenile males reported they were walking along the SEPTA trolley tracks near Stidman Drive and throwing rocks. They reported that a female yelled at them to stop throwing rocks and then a male from the apartments appeared to have a firearm displayed and threatened them about throwing rocks. Det. Nutley is investigating.
June 4 at 11:04 p.m.
Officers investigated a traffic crash on the 700 block of West Rolling Road, in which a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed north on Rolling Road struck a parked vehicle. The driver, 22, of Philadelphia, exhibited signs of intoxication and two bottles of liquor were found inside the vehicle. The driver and three passengers needed medical attention and were transported to a hospital.
