Missing Morton Juvenile Found, Charged with Theft
A juvenile from Morton is charged with theft for allegedly breaking into vehicles and stealing items near Church Road Park early Sunday morning. He was found to be a reported missing person.

While on patrol in the area of on May 20 at 12:39 a.m., Patrolman Jacob Bierling observed a vehicle with its window broken out and the side door open.
Further investigation showed that a second vehicle had also been broken into. The area was searched and a suspect was located sitting on a bench near the baseball field.
He had numerous items in his possession that were allegedly stolen from the two vehicles. The suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile from Morton, was taken into custody and transported to the Springfield police station. He was found to be a missing person from Morton.

He will be petitioned to juvenile court in Media and charged with theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night among other related charges. The incident is under investigation by Detective Bridget McCarthy.
