Multiple Thefts From Unlocked Vehicles Reported

Cash, credit cards and food have been taken from unlocked vehicles, police said.

Springfield Police have taken multiple reports of thefts from unlocked vehicles.

  • A Drexel Hill resident reported Dec. 28 that sometime between 2 and 3:30 p.m.,  someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet while the vehicle was parked in the lot of the Springfield Mall. The wallet contained various forms of identification and credit cards. The cards were cancelled before the actor(s) had a chance to use them.
  • A resident from the 400 block of Thatcher Road reported at 11:47 a.m. Jan. 11 that sometime during the night someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a pair of sunglasses, a cellular phone, and an envelope with a large amount of cash while the vehicle was parked on the street in front of the home.
  • An Eddystone resident reported Jan. 11 that sometime between 3 and 4 p.m., someone entered her unlocked van and stole a quantity of food and toilet paper while the vehicle was parked in the lot of the BJ’s Wholesale Club in the 1200 block of East Woodland Avenue. The items are valued at $50.
